ABS / Rigid Plastic Flocking Adhesive

Water-based flocking adhesive direction for ABS, rigid PVC and similar thermoplastic parts.

Product Overview

This direction is for ABS and other relatively easier-to-bond rigid plastics. It should not be treated as a zero-process guarantee: molded parts may still carry release agents, oil, dust or surface texture differences that affect flock adhesion.

This page is written for application screening and sample discussion. Final performance should be confirmed with the buyer's substrate, process route, test method, and acceptance standard.

Typical Applications

  • ABS plastic parts
  • Electronic housings
  • Appliance components
  • Rigid plastic decorative parts

Key Features

ABS and rigid PVC wetting advantage

ABS and rigid PVC are generally more bondable than PP/PE, but molded parts can still carry release agents or oil that weaken the interface.

Plastic housing abrasion check

Plastic housings and appliance parts should be checked for flock density, edge coverage and abrasion after normal handling.

Release-agent and surface texture control

Surface texture, recycled content and cleaning method can change adhesion, so the sample should use production parts when possible.

Testing Suggestions

Test on the real molded part, paper, foam, hanger, glass or metal surface instead of only a flat reference panel.Record cleaning method, surface activation or primer route, flock fiber, application method, drying temperature and drying time.Check flock loss, peel or scratch behavior, abrasion, heat aging and humidity aging according to the buyer's use condition. For PP/PE, flexible PVC, silicone or rubber-like substrates, discuss pretreatment and aging targets before requesting a final TDS.
